Benjamin "Ben" Gray Elliott, of Hixson, Tennessee departed this life to claim his promise on May 18, 2017. He was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on August 22, 1976 and moved to Chattanooga in 1986 with his family. Ben was an active member at Red Bank Church of Christ for several years. He served as a deacon and adult Sunday school teacher. He was lovingly known as "Doctor" Ben by many children and adults because of a character he developed and played to attract children to Red Bank's Sunday night children's program. Benjamin "Ben" Gray Elliott, of Hixson, Tennessee departed this life to claim his promise on May 18, 2017. He was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on August 22, 1976 and moved to Chattanooga in 1986 with his family. Ben was an active member at Red Bank Church of Christ for several years. He served as a deacon and adult Sunday school teacher. He was lovingly known as "Doctor" Ben by many children and adults because of a character he developed and played to attract children to Red Bank's Sunday night children's program. He worked at Hamilton County Juvenile Court for 18 years and developed many close friendships there. He was a graduate of Boyd Buchanan High School and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He is survived by his wife, Rachel; son, Jacob; daughter, Abigail "Abby"; parents, Walter and Diane Elliott; brother, Steve (Jennifer) Elliott; nephews, Jack and Cooper; niece, Clara; several cousins, aunts, uncles and in-laws. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Greater Chattanooga Christian Services. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 4 pm to 6 pm at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Monday, May 22, 2017 from 11 am to 1 pm with the funeral service to follow at 1 pm at the funeral home officiated by Minister Steve Lusk and Minister Tommy Stone. A graveside service to follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are held by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343.
