John Franklin Kerr, age 95, of Chattanooga, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 7, 2018, at home surrounded by family. He had been cared for in his home for many years by his son, Allan Kerr, and daughter-in-law, Joanie Kerr. He was born May 19, 1922 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late G.E. Kerr and Lula Mae Criswell Kerr. He had a servant's heart; by serving his country in the Army Air Corp during WWII, faithfully serving his Lord as a deacon at First Baptist Church Chattanooga, and lovingly serving his family....

He had been cared for in his home for many years by his son, Allan Kerr, and daughter-in-law, Joanie Kerr. He was born May 19, 1922 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late G.E. Kerr and Lula Mae Criswell Kerr. He had a servant's heart; by serving his country in the Army Air Corp during WWII, faithfully serving his Lord as a deacon at First Baptist Church Chattanooga, and lovingly serving his family. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jane Journey Kerr; daughter, Janice Granger (Tom) of Hoover, AL; son, Allan Kerr (Joanie) of Chattanooga, TN; daughter Ann Goodin (Harry) of Fishers, IN; 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and brother Everett Kerr of Signal Mountain, TN. He was preceded in death by his sister Audrea Mae Kerr Butler, nephew David Butler, and grandson Andrew Kerr Goodin. Visitation at Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, 5401 Hwy. 153, Hixson on Wednesday, January 10 from 4pm to 7pm. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church Chattanooga Golden Gateway, 401 Gateway Ave., Chattanooga on Thursday, January 11 at 2pm, with visitation one hour prior to service at the church. Interment to follow at Chattanooga Memorial Park, 501 Memorial Dr., Chattanooga. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Hearth Hospice, 1800 Rossville Ave., Suite 114, Chattanooga, TN 37408.
